Service Tech Representative

Job Summary

This position reports to the Service Department Manager and is responsible for assisting the Service Department in providing professional service to customers and investigate to resolve customer issues.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude with engineering science and technology application.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone by providing professional, accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and technical service to our customers by thoroughly investigating and resolve customer’s questions and issues.
  • Recognize trends and patterns in customer issues and identify preventative solutions.
  • Understand and adhere to service and sales goals, objectives, and strategy.
  • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions.
  • Promote ability to work efficiently, expertly, and independently.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and drawings, including CAD drawings and BOM’s.
  • Assist engineers to design, develop, test, or manufacture production equipment.
  • Prepare specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, or systems related to the generation, transmission, or use of mechanical, electrical or fluid energy.
  • Provide technical support to the other department employees regarding mechanical design, fabrication, testing, or documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Mastery in customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong ability to interface with all levels of individuals within and outside the company.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Mastery with computers and computer software including, word, excel, data entry and information processes.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software a plus.
