Yard Person

Job Summary

This person reports directly to the Mounting Supervisor and is responsible for the coordination of all trucks, supplies, and equipment in the yard.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for all equipment entering and exiting the yard and designated parking areas.
  • Coordinates organization of outdoor product placement including chassis, purchased products, jigs, pallets and other items stored outside.
  • Start and transport chassis as needed.
  • Maintains records of inventory to identify the location of items.
  • Monitor the entire trafficking process for all equipment that enters or leaves the yard.
  • Responsible for moving, linking, unlinking, and monitoring all equipment in the yard and supplying needed items upon request.
  • Participate in the preparation of equipment for rental, sale, and/or demo.
  • Unload and check all received goods for quality, damage, and accuracy of load.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and excellent customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance personnel to gain access to needed items.
  • Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires a CDL class A or B.
  • Requires constant movement for long periods of time, and the ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, bending, stooping, crawling and overhead position, including climbing and working on a ladder.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision while functioning in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and blue prints.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate various shop tools including manual and power wrenches and jump starter.
  • Trained in forklift operation and safety.
  • Ability to transport product utilizing a forklift.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to multitask.
