Industrial Engineer

Job Summary

This position reports directly to the Production Engineering/Continuous Improvement Manager and is responsible for determining the most effective means for an organization to use capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, labor, and other assets to make a product.

Job Description

  • Establish method of manufacturing which will include work centers, machines, and production rates.
  • Observes workers operating equipment and performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate.
  • Studies sequence of operations to be performed and flow of business and materials.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed involved in performance of maintenance, production, and other worker operations to establish standard production rate and to improve efficiency.
  • Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, how materials are handled and how machines are used.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP system, Epicor experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics preferred.
  • Knowledge of production processes, manufacturing routings, and quality control processes.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Experience using Solid Works and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills handling project level responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex functions, procedures and problems to find creative, logical and effective solutions.
