Industrial Engineering Technician

Job Summary

This position reports directly to the Production Engineering/Continuous Improvement Manager and is responsible for assisting in the development and continuous improvement for the methods of operation and ERP.

Job Description

  • Suggest revisions for methods of operation, material handling, and equipment layout.
  • Conducts time studies of personnel, equipment and tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate.
  • Establish method of manufacturing which will include work centers, machines, and production rates.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed involved in performance of maintenance, production, and other worker operations to establish standard production rate and to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, how materials are handled and how machines are used.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience and/or education directly related to the position responsibilities.
    – Education may include Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field of study.
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP software. This position will Epicor.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics preferred.
  • Knowledge of production processes, manufacturing routings, and quality control processes.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Experience using Solid Works and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills handling project level responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a positive team member.
  • Ability to analyze complex functions, procedures and problems to find creative, logical and effective solutions.
