New Way® Trucks has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to funding scientific research and educational initiatives for waste management practices with a donation to the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF). As the company has for the past several years, New Way is making a major contribution to the EREF Annual Charitable Auction, which will take place on May 10 during the 2017 WasteExpo event in New Orleans.
Refuse industry leader New Way is donating one of the company’s most popular models, a 20-yard Cobra™ rear loader, which is built for exceptional performance with a three-cubic-yard hopper and mounted on a 2017 International chassis. The truck is equipped with a hot shift PTO with EOS that enables convenient pack on the go, a Barker HB15-4541 Cart Tipper, reeving winch, and Safety Vision rear-view camera system with 7-inch color monitor.
As is true of all New Way products, safety was given the highest priority in the design process. Visibility on the road is markedly improved by an integrated strobe system with upper and lower TG lights and LED work lights. A street-side safety shutdown and driver buzzer enhance communication with the driver and immediate action in any situation.
“We’re proud to offer one of our best products to help EREF raise the funds that will help them continue to provide research grants and educational programs,” said New Way Vice President of Sales Phil Allen. “The research and educational work EREF does is vital to the future of our industry.”
The EREF auction is a feature of the 2017 WasteExpo event and conference, which takes place from May 8-11. New Way Trucks will maintain a strong presence at the expo, where the Iowa-based refuse truck manufacturer will display three trucks in their 2,000 sq ft booth, #1347, including a ROTO PAC®, Mammoth™ and Diamondback™. New Way will also have a Viper™ at the Hino booth, #1609. WasteExpo is the industry’s biggest annual event. Refuse companies unveil the latest products and innovations at the expo, which is celebrating its 49th year.
The donation of the Cobra rear loader is just one of the ways New Way is supporting EREF at WasteExpo. The industry-leading manufacturer will also participate in the EREF Silent Auction, which features smaller donations and helps increase vendor booth traffic. New Way has donated a South Dakota pheasant hunt to the silent auction. WasteExpo attendees may bid on silent auction items via their mobile devices, which allows bidders the convenience of viewing donations and placing bids from anywhere.
WasteExpo attendees are encouraged to visit New Way booth, #1347, as well as the EREF Auction booth, #134. For more information on the EREF Auction and WasteExpo event, visit https://erefdn.org/event/2017-eref-annual-auction/
