Refuse truck manufacturer New Way® has always been very active with the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF), and this year is no different. The Iowa-based manufacturer has donated a 20yd Cobra rear loader to the EREF, which will be auctioned off during the Annual Charitable Auction at the 2016 WasteExpo event in Las Vegas, June 7-8.
The annual EREF Auction, which is its largest fundraiser event, has raised more than $16 million to further their mission to fund and direct scientific research, as well as educational initiatives, for waste management practices. Thanks to the generosity of waste industry leaders such as New Way and other industry professionals, the event continues to be held annually at WasteExpo. New Way’s rear loader donation is sure to grab the attention of would-be bidders.
The 20yd Cobra rear loader, which boasts an 80 inch tailgate, is mounted on a 2016 International chassis and has been built with convenience in mind. A hotshift with EOS and pump enables convenient packing on the go, while the Bayne BTL 208-12 Cart Tipper reeving winch and SV 7” color camera system streamline the collection process. In addition to convenience, the truck has been engineered with safety in mind.
An integrated strobe system with upper and lower TG RND lights, combined with LED work lights increase visibility on the road, while a street side safety shut down and driver buzzer allow for immediate action in any situation. “We’re proud to be an EREF Auction partner and that we are able to give back to our industry while helping drive research and education,” said New Way vice president of sales Phil Allen. “The EREF is doing great things for waste management practices and WasteExpo is the ideal venue for such an undertaking. We look forward to the auction and the proceeds that will be generated in support of the EREF’s efforts.”
In addition to donating the 20yd rear loader, New Way is also participating in the EREF Silent Auction, which features smaller donations and helps increase vendor booth traffic. The industry leading manufacturer has donated a pheasant hunt for two at Dakota Wild Wings Lodge in Miller, SD. New to this year’s event, WasteExpo attendees can now bid on Silent Auction items via their mobile devices. This not only increases bidding and event exposure, but also conveniently allows bidders to view donations and place bids from anywhere.
WasteExpo attendees are encouraged to visit New Way booth #1543, as well as the EREF Auction, booth #5148. For more information on the EREF Auction and WasteExpo event, visit https://erefdn.org/event/2016-eref-annual-auction/.
