New Way Trucks Update Regarding Scranton Manufacturing Fire
03.06.20
Scranton, IA (March 6, 2020) – Following a fire that occurred on the evening of February 24, 2020, Scranton Manufacturing is working hard to restore production operations. The fire, which originated in a paint booth where parts were being painted, was contained to a small area of the facility. However, facility damage–including smoke–is widespread.
After a weekend mobilization, restoration has begun throughout the plant. More than 150 subcontractors are currently on-site working around the clock to restore production systems. The vast majority of employees were working the week of March 2nd, and all employees are expected at work the week of March 9th in various capacities, with many returning to production roles. No employee pay or benefits were interrupted during the temporary outage.
“We are blessed that no one was injured, and we are well on the way to restoring production. However, we have experienced a temporary outage that will result in production delays,” said Don Ross, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
“We are thankful to our distributor network and customers for their support of New Way during this difficult process, and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience this outage is causing.”
